What I observe in an environment often finds its way into my coaching, especially when it comes to nature. It can be as simple as naming what I see. I do not have to make meaning out of it. That is the clientโs work. But I do mention it so they have a chance to respond.
Momentum Creates Possibility
Recently, while on a call with a client, I noticed the difference in feeling when there is momentum in a job search. Especially since the pandemic, the job search has become more of a communications game, with momentum building confidence. In this case, we had collaborated, generated ideas, and built momentum together. Things were not going exactly according to plan, but the energy was there.
Noticing Creates Space
All of a sudden, something shot by my window. I thought, What the heck was that? It turned out to be a bald eagleโjust soaring, not even flapping its wings, gliding by effortlessly. I was so taken aback that I called it out: โA bald eagle just flew by.โ My client responded, โOh, thatโs a good omen.โ I pointed at him and said, โThere you go.โ That was me acknowledging his belief. That was me choosing to receive.
One week later, he got the job.
What do you do with what you notice?
